How to Play craps
First things first, the table of craps is divided into different areas. Each area has a name. For example, the Pass Line, the Don’t Pass Bar, the Big 6, and the Big 8, etc. each of these has a different significance in the game of craps.
As you throw the dice, you have to wager on the sum of the throw. The first throw is also called the Come-out. In this, the shooter (the player who throws the dice) rolls the dice on the table. In online craps, there is a roll button that you have to press and the dice is automatically rolled.
Now, there are three results that you can get in craps.
The Three Results of Come-out in craps
After the dice have been rolled, the dice can sum up to three possible outcomes.
Natural – When you get either a 7 or an 11, that is when you get a Natural. In a Natural result, you get to throw the dice again.
Crapping Out – When you get either a 2, 3, or 12, that is when you crap out. The 2 is also known as the snake’s eye because of how the dice look with 1 on each.
Rolling the Point – When you roll a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, you get a point. In this, your point is marked by the dealer. In the online craps game, a small button appears, signifying the marking of your point.
The Wager
You have to wager on the different areas of the table in craps. For example, you can wager on the Pass Line or you can wager on the Don’t Pass Bar.
If you wagered on the Pass Line and got a 7 or 11, that is you got a Natural, you win. Now, if you wagered on the Don’t Pass Bar and the result was 2, 3, or 12, then also you win.
In both the above-mentioned cases, you get to roll the dice again.
However, in craps, if you get any other number apart from Natural and Crapping Out, you get a Point. You still have the chance to roll in the next rounds. In this case, the shooter gets to roll the dice again till they hit the Point number again.
To hit the Point again, the shooter has to roll the dice to the same Point number. For this, they do not have to get the same numbers on each of the die. For example, if you get the number 5, you can get it as 4 + 1 the first time and 2 + 3 the second time.
In the game of craps, if the shooter hits a 7, they are Seven Out or Crap out. This means that they lose their bet.
For a shooter who has wagered on the Pass Line and rolls a Point before crapping out, they win the bet. However, if the shooter rolls a 7 before hitting the Point, they lose the Pass Line bet. In this case, if another player has wagered against the shooter on a Don’t Pass bet, they win.
Types of Bets
There are 4 types of bets in Craps.
1. Pass Line
2. Don’t Pass Bar
3. Come
4. Don’t Come
In craps, you can bet that the shooter will pass with a Natural number, 7 or 11. this case, if the shooter does get a 7 or an 11, you win the bet.
In the Don’t Pass Bar, you can then bet that the shooter will not pass by getting Crapped out, if that happens, you again win the bet. this case, the shooter has to get a 2, or 3 to get Crapped out.
If a point has already been established on the table, then you have to bet either a Come or Don’t Come bet.
In case, you wager on a Come bet, you have to hope that the shooter gets a Natural number. If a Crap is rolled out, you lose the bet.
For the Don’t Come bet, you win if the shooter gets a Crap number. If the shooter gets a Natural, that is, 7 or 11, you lose.
Role of the Point
The Point number is very important in the game of craps. Once, the Point number is established the shooter will win the bet if he gets a Natural or hits the Point in case of a Pass Line bet.
In the case of the Don’t Pass Bar in craps, you win the bet if the shooter gets a 2, or 3 or fails to hit the Point before getting a 7.
For a Come bet, if the shooter rolls the Point, it becomes a Come Bet point. The shooter wins if he rolls out the Come Bet point before sevening out.
In case of a Don’t Come bet, you win if the shooter gets a Crap number. He should hit a 7 before rolling out a Point for you to win your Don’t Come bet.
